A nine horse contested the 1200m last race at Yarra Glen and the track was chopped up by then. Speccy didn't bound out first and settled towards the rear. She was never happy in the going and finished at the tail of the field on a track that saw a leader bias all day.  Heading out at Yarra Glen Earlier reports: Starspect our Star light, Star bright will renew on Sunday 25th March at Yarra Glen in a 1200m 0-78 class race. With Luke Currie aboard she will come from barrier 6 in a 12 horse field. Anything she does she will improve on.

Early March and Starspect had a jumpout at Bendigo and pleased trainer Gavin Beever with her efforts. Slowly away she just softly rated along nicely and made up a little ground in the run home. Back at Cumbre she ate up well and Gavin said as long as she keeps going we'll see her back soon. In Other news
Lil Bro named Keep and eye out for Speccys half brother named as Grosvenor Tsar. The second Val Royal colt out of Star of Grosvenor will be trained by David Hayes. Speccy 20 noms There are 20 noms for the 1200m Yarra Valley renewal race of Speccy for Sunday 25th March. Supreme Royal resumes The 3yo bro to Speccy, Supreme Royal resumed at Ascot last week for come from behind 6th. He'll go around again in easier company at Ascot on the 21st March Starspect's half brother sold for NZD$26k at the Karaka sales to Graeme Rogerson. The colt will be retained by Stephen Autridge.

 Starspect back in Jan at the track Gavin Beever explained that she is increasing in condition and fitness. She has a program of swimming, hill work and working on the deep sand with the track riders impressed with her attitude and form. She continues to eat up well and very much enjoys being paddocked with her mate Testa, Speccy is the paddock boss but they do get along well. She is now going into the track four to five days a week and she handles it all very professionally. She is happy with life which hopefully translates to happiness for her and us on the track!! Maybe she just knows she is getting a Valentines card from her penpal Elvstroem! |
